Welcome to Currtis. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Currtis's website, services, and applications (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Description of Service
Currtis is an automated email spam protection service that:
- Connects to your email account via secure authentication
- Monitors your incoming emails for spam indicators
- Identifies suspicious messages based on predefined criteria
- May automatically delete or quarantine identified spam messages
- Provides a dashboard to review, manage, and restore deleted messages
- Allows you to whitelist trusted senders and domains to prevent false positives
2. User Accounts and Authentication
To use Currtis, you must:
- Have a valid email account
- Grant Currtis permission to access your email data
- Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction)
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3. Email Access and Message Deletion
Important Notice: Currtis requires permission to read, modify, and delete messages in your email inbox. By using the Service, you explicitly authorize Currtis to:
- Read email messages to identify potential spam
- Delete or quarantine messages that match our spam detection criteria
- Store copies of deleted messages for review and restoration purposes
- Access email metadata including sender information, subject lines, and message content
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Message deletion may occur automatically without prior notice
- False positives may occur, and legitimate messages may be incorrectly identified as spam
- Deleted messages can be restored through the Currtis dashboard, subject to availability
- We make reasonable efforts to accurately detect spam, but cannot guarantee perfect accuracy
4. Spam Detection Criteria
Currtis identifies potential spam messages based on the following criteria:
- Sender's email domain is known to send spam
- Message content contains suspicious links or phishing attempts
- Message exhibits common spam patterns (excessive capitalization, suspicious formatting, etc.)
- Sender reputation and email authentication failures
Messages from senders and domains you have whitelisted will not be flagged or deleted. You can manage your whitelist through the Settings page.
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
- Not use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
- Review your whitelist settings to prevent legitimate messages from being deleted
- Regularly check the Currtis dashboard for any incorrectly flagged messages
- Maintain backup copies of important emails through other means
- Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service
6. Service Modifications and Availability
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice
- Change spam detection criteria and algorithms
- Update these Terms at any time (continued use constitutes acceptance)
- Limit features or restrict access to certain users
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
7. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Revoking Currtis's access in your Google Account settings
- Contacting us to request account deletion
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your use poses a security or legal risk
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period
- Required by law
Upon termination, we will cease monitoring your email inbox, but previously collected data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- Guarantees of spam detection accuracy
- Assurances that legitimate events will not be deleted
- Promises of service availability or uptime
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CURRTIS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Deletion of legitimate email messages (false positives)
- Missed or undetected spam messages (false negatives)
- Loss of important email data or missed communications
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Damages exceeding the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (if any)
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Currtis, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- False positives or deleted messages that result in missed communications or obligations
10. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points include:
- We access your email data solely to provide spam protection services
- We store deleted message data to enable restoration functionality
- We comply with applicable data protection regulations and industry standards
- We do not sell or share your email data with third parties for marketing purposes

- We do not transfer your data to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Virginia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court.
You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Currtis regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

- You understand that Currtis may automatically delete messages from your email inbox
- You accept the risk of false positives (legitimate messages being deleted)
- You will regularly review your whitelist settings and deleted messages
- You maintain responsibility for important emails and should keep backups
